QA to Web3: My Journey
How I am making my transition from traditional QA engineering to blockchain development, and the unique advantages my testing background brings to smart contract security.
01Intro
Transitioning from 5 years of QA Engineering to building and securing the future of DeFi. I bring a unique security-first mindset to smart contract development and DeFi protocols.

02Profile
From enterprise and central-bank quality engineering to Web3—grounded in regulated delivery, automation, and systems that cannot afford to fail.
Background: My traditional-industry track spans global technology and consulting at IBM (client engagements across domains and tech stacks), central banking at the Bank of England on the RTGS Renewal Programme for critical payment services, and an intensive academy start at QA Consulting in Manchester. That mix—enterprise delivery, regulated infrastructure, and disciplined SDLC practice—shaped how I think about risk, regression, and release quality.
The Pivot: Blockchain and decentralized finance drew me toward Web3 engineering. The same habits that mattered in banking and enterprise QA—rigorous automation, traceability, and accessibility-aware testing—map directly onto smart contracts and DeFi, where exploits are unforgiving.
Current Focus: I'm building DeFi protocols, smart contracts, and full-stack dApps with a security-first approach. My projects include lending platforms, DEX implementations, and cross-chain applications on Ethereum and Solana.
Future Goals: I aim to become a leading smart contract security expert, contributing to the safety and reliability of the DeFi ecosystem. I'm actively seeking opportunities to work with innovative Web3 teams.
Open to full-time positions, contract work, and freelance projects
Test Automation Engineer delivering automation across client engagements—UI suites (Java, Selenium, Cucumber, POM), API regressions with REST Assured (including migration from SoapUI), and AWS pipeline runs with Jenkins CI/CD, plus WCAG-oriented accessibility testing and Python checks on data layers.
SDET on the RTGS Renewal Programme, contributing to quality for critical payment infrastructure: automated end-to-end regression, engineering standards for test code, and close collaboration with developers in a regulated environment.
Academy training at QA Consulting (Agile delivery, Java/Spring, CI/CD with Jenkins and SonarQube), MEng (Mechatronic Engineering) from the University of Manchester, and ISTQB plus AWS Cloud Practitioner—extended today with Solana and Ethereum ecosystem study.
Building smart contracts and dApps with a security-first mindset—lending, escrow, vesting, and more on EVM and Solana—carrying forward habits from high-stakes QA and regulated workflows.
03Stack
A comprehensive overview of my technical expertise, from smart contract development to security testing.
Currently enrolled in advanced Web3 bootcamps, contributing to open-source projects, and staying up-to-date with the latest developments in DeFi and blockchain technology.
04Work
A showcase of my Web3 development work, featuring DeFi protocols, smart contracts, and security tools.
A fully functional decentralized exchange (DEX) built on Solana using Anchor framework and React. This project provides a complete trading platform with token swaps, liquidity pools, and analytics.
This project is a decentralized tipping application built on Solana, enabling users to send SOL tips with messages to other users. The dApp uses an escrow-based system for secure fund management and features a modern React + Vite frontend.
A high-performance NFT marketplace on Solana with advanced trading features.
A smart contract lottery built on Ethereum using Solidity.
A price alert dapp built on Ethereum using Solidity and Tellor Oracle for price feeds
